Leisure – poem

by suleimanharuna

Leisure

The sways of verdure lull me

Ducklings by the sea

Lazy breeze, falling leaves,

Lade my tired lids

Waves ram the shore, startling me

The tweet of birdies perching by

Hushed rumble of a distant plane

And notes from a distant flute

Is a triad, memory irking

The sea, the skies, dressed in blue

Protruding the sun of the midmorning

Divorcing one horizon for another

A dream spectacle

Little termites playing pick-a-back

Reminiscent of kids back home

A distant fish boomerangs

Back into the sea.
